Catherine Croner is the Design Director for Cowtan & Tout, based in New York City. Catherine joined the company in 1992 and began overseeing the studio in 1996. Coming from a background of fine art training as a painter and printmaker, Catherine gravitated toward textile design after working for 8 years as a decorative painter and muralist. It was that experience, working hands on with interior designers, matching colors from fabric schemes that originally captured her interest in the world of decorative arts and particularly textiles.

Under the direction of Catherine Croner, the Cowtan & Tout design studio explores and develops the very best of American design, branding the company with its unique offering of elegant, colorful and timeless designs.  Its collections offer a wide range of decorative choices in which tradition is reinterpreted for a contemporary, classic interior. The design studio remains devoted to supporting extraordinary workmanship, keeping alive age-old, handmade methods for producing unique fabrics. Cowtan & Tout offers an eclectic selection of specialty prints, embroideries, wovens, sheers, indoor/outdoor fabrics, trimmings, as well as a broad selection of wallcoverings.  Along with their sister brands Colefax and Fowler, Jane Churchill, Larsen and Manuel Canovas, Cowtan & Tout is one of today’s industry leaders.
